ever since zeng got away from his old master he found korra and keeped on asking korra of being his waterbending teacher but she keep refusing. so he had a plan he'll help her get closer to mako and she accepted after getting annoyed by zeng. his old teacher was cruel to him and forcing him to learn blood bending which he hates and that's why he ran away
